They have their faults but are very nice. I gave them a clean but they could still do with a little work to remove a some sticky residue which can be seen on the lid and on the wood of the salt holder. The wood on the pepper holder has cracked, but otherwise they are a charming pair even just as they are. Inside for ease of cleaning they have white plastic containers which are not removable.
