The Following of Christ in Four Books By Thomas Kempis New revised Edition 1906

This little collectable book dates back to 1906 and was printed in Belgium by Zech and Son who where the editors to the archdioceses of Smyrna and Quebec. The Four books of The following of Christ are all contained within this small delicate book which opens with a table of feasts and fasts throughout the year, the days of fasting, days of abstinence, the ten Commandments of God, and the six commandments of the church. It is a new revised edition which has been translated from the original by Thomas A Kempis (1380 – 1471) by the Right Rev. R. Challoner D. D. (1691 – 1781)

It has an inscription which reads

“To Mrs Edwards
Wishing her every grace and blessing
J Howard (?)
Jany 1911″

I’m not sure if “Jany” is the signatory’s name or reference to the month. It’s almost 110 years old either way and 105 years since it was given as a gift.
