This beautiful and vivid mid-century impasto oil painting is of the famous Chinese junk boats pictured against a mountainous background under the rich warm orange tones of the setting sun. The painting has a textured gold frame with a brown velvet and gold bevelled inner frame and is signed by the artist, Tang.

Chinese junk boats were used as early as 200 BC in China and were the backbone of the Chinese merchant navy and later used by the Chinese military Navy in the 14th century.
