Nautical Magnifying Glass In Silk and Velvet Lined Wood Case

This wonderful magnifying glass has a brass frame and a wood and brass knoped handle. Its convex lens is in excellent optical condition. I don’t know how to measure the magnification of a magnifying glass although there are ways but what i can say is that it appears a very regular magnification ie one i have observed as i am sure you have too with most of these lenses. The case has a small brass anchor inset into the lid and inset brass on the corners. Once opened the magnifying glass sits snugly into the case sinking into its velvet bed and has a cushioned white silk roof to protect it on closing the lid.
