These wonderful turtles are from Cuba and are handmade. Its no wonder these happy little creatures are so well carved as the turtle has many cultural ties to the island. My favourite is “The Turtle And the Guitar ” a story about the perseverance of a little turtle to play the guitar even when all the other animals thought he was totally crazy!
Description
Cuba has several native turtles although these are most likely either the Cuban river turtle or the Cuban sea turtle. They have Cuba beautifully etched on their undersides.
