It was one of those frustratingly interesting things that made me go hmm. But this wonderful fella turned out to be a Chinese tea pet or chachong and is kept as a good luck charm by tea drinkers.
Description
He has a lovely feel to him, is quite heavy and in good condition. Im not sure what his eyes are made from but they shine and his nose and tail have been finished with what looks like porcelain. Depending on uniqueness and age these tea pets can be quite collectable. This one has a maker’s mark on the bottom of his foot.
