Description
A beautiful pair of fruit or seafood forks they would have been used by Russian capitalists in the early part of the 20th century. The fork styled in art nouveau is marked with an 84 and has a makers mark of RM, and the Georgian style fork is marked 900. They both display the same owner’s monogram on their handles and were most likely imported to St Petersburg from silversmiths elsewhere in Europe, notably the Art Nouveau style fork which was probably imported from France between 1890 to 1910. All though it is not very clear I believe the Georgian style fork has a kokoshnik mark. Both of these gorgeous forks were gilded which has worn on the Georgian style fork.
