Charming Vintage Mother-of-Pearl Salt & Pepper Shakers

These charming mother-of-pearl salt and pepper shakers have a lovely rainbow effect typical of mother-of-pearl which is not obvious in the photos. The tops appear to be silver, although they are not hallmarked. The lids are designed to be secure, but they require you to hold the small lever on the side while shaking to prevent the contents from spilling, so don’t forget to inform your guests about how to use them properly otherwise they will end up with a fair bit of extra salt and pepper on their grub! They are pretty and old, with some wear on the clips that hold the lids in place, you may however be able to fix this with a bit of tinkering.
