Mother of Pearl Elephants with an Abalone Hexagonal Trinket Box

These wonderfuls elephants are made from mother of pearl and decorated with silver metal jewellery and anklets. They are most likely from India in celebration of the elephant festival of Jaipur.

And these certainly are treasures.

The abalone shell and mother of pearl hexagonal trinket box is also a gem and when opened is lined with red silk.

All three are in fair vintage condition and I suspect the white metal on the elephants is probably silver. One of the elephants is missing its feet tassels. The trinket box lid does not stay open on its own.
